Student-built DC motor

"Let Mortals Rejoice That So Great An Ornament To The Human Race Has Existed."

Inscription On The Tomb of Sir Isaac Newton

This legendary student, exercising his personal initiative, built his own DC motor at home (depicted to the right) and then brought it to class. I then used this DC motor while teaching and this enriched the learning experience of all my Grade 8 Physics students. Superior performance O! It is an honour being your teacher. I learn from you. We rely on people like you to take us to Mars and beyond! Keep on going!

Lorentz Law in Action! Electromagnetism.

Grade 8 Physics Student, Fall Term 2017

Dedicated to remember glorious students, past and present, who inspire me every day to learn, improve, and give it my best! Their passion for excellence is akin to an eternal flame of determination and hope! Thank you!

Congratulations L, I, & M! Terrific Stuff! Grade 8 Physics, Fall Term 2017

Above: Great work L, M, and I! You ladies succeeded in building your own DC motor in addition to building other circuits! Thank you for inspiring your peers, bringing your own experiment materials, and for your grit in not giving up until you made the DC motor turn! You are leaders!

Fluid mosaic model plant and animal cell model carousel.

Students in Grade 7 Biology were super creative in building their cell models. It was impressive! I particularly noticed some food built models that used jelly to represent the cytoplasm. This reminded me of the fluid mosaic model of the cell and the notion that organelles float and are suspended! Lovely work!

Food, Diet, & Digestion Poster Gallery Walk

Students in Grade 8 Biology worked hard and creatively to create insightful posters. Well Done! The artistic talent was particularly appreciated (S.T.E.(A).M)!

Grade 8 Biology, Winter Term 2016

Ability to independently, and in teams, generate, collect, organize, and record/document data in table format during a Forces physics experiment. Great neatness and handwriting! Excellent work and an exuberant start to the term J & S & K!

Physics Grade 7, Fall Term 2017

This student, on her own initiative, built a glucose molecule at home with the help of her mother who is a pharmaceuticals expert. She then brought this model to school and presented it to me. It was inspiring! Great work M and Godspeed!

The Robotic Arm.

Below: Dear S, J, and S: Your poster presentation below was particularly well done! I loved the 3D model component along with the water reservoir and the penstock of a hydro power dam. Magnificent work! Thank you for being such fantastic, independent yet collaborative, and inspiring students!

Grade 7 Physics, Fall Term 2017

Right: Dear E & M! Your presentation on the use of fossil fuels was original, unique, and informative! I loved the 3D model component which the 2 of you made and you were pioneers in this. This prompted and encouraged some of your peers to follow your footsteps! Your teamwork and organization during the presentation was self-evident. I liked the way you answered a tough question from one of your peers: He asked - "how are fossil fuels made" and your answer was awesome and thorough. Last but not least, thank you for bravely volunteering to present first! Superb work! Thank you for being such driven students with a great work ethic and always paying meticulous attention to details and learning with a positive attitude!
